"I have seen amazing transformations for young people experiencing the Adventure Learning Center. Just getting youth outdoors and into nature can be a great experience for them. Often, youth who feel alienated and distrustful of others, find opportunities to work as a team and see how everyone has something to contribute. One 7th grade boy, who was not trusted by his group to be responsible for the group "treasure box", was able to complete the task and prove to himself and others that he could be counted on. Another elementary school boy just enjoyed "listening to nature" as he walked along the path through the woods. These are experiences that these youth would not otherwise have had."
